Where you land in those ranges depends on how many pages you need, how custom the design is, what the site connects to, and who writes the content.

## The three tiers

## What moves the price

- Pages and page types. Ten near-identical pages cost less than five different kinds of page.

- Custom design versus a template. Custom design is where elevated sites spend their budget, and it is where a brand wins or loses trust.

- Integrations. Payments, booking, CRM, inventory or member logins each add build and test time.

- Content. If you supply finished copy and images, the build is faster. If we write and source it, plan for that.

- Speed to launch. Fixed scope and fast decisions on your side keep the timeline at the low end.

## Timeline

A brochure site typically goes live in 4 to 6 weeks and an online store in 6 to 10 weeks, if feedback comes within a few days each round. Delays almost always come from late content and slow approvals, not from the build.

## What you pay after launch

Budget for hosting, security updates, backups and small changes. Most sites need a care plan, or an in-house person with the time to do this. Ask any studio what is included before you sign.

## How to choose a studio

- Ask to see launches, not only designs, and open them on your phone.

- Ask who owns the code, the domain and the accounts after launch. It should be you.

- Ask for a fixed scope and a fixed price per phase.

- Ask who you will talk to every week.

- Ask what happens when something breaks after launch.
